Our Story
Cupid took his aim at Brian and Nicole in September of 2013. It should come as no surprise that these two social butterflies met on a night out on the town. A terrible pickup line, an awkward exchange of Instagram pages and an uncertainty we’d see each other again is far from a meeting you’d read about in a fairy-tale. It was an awkward, silly, and beautifully unconventional meeting which would end up being the perfect embodiment of our love for each other and our lives ever since. Those who know us best would say that we are basically the male and female versions of each other. Even the silliest of things we seem to find similar ground on. This was apparent after an early date watching a 49ers NFC championship game which lead to a baby-like tantrum from Brian. The type of tantrum that would scare most women off for good, but the girl from the South knew her football and was no stranger to diehard fandom. Don’t get it wrong, we have had our hurdles. From disagreements about design ideas on our first home (Brian has terrible taste), to forgetting the shovel and digging us out by hand in the snow while camping, to debating who is going to get up in the middle of the night to let our puppy out (Brian of course…). All of our experiences together, good or bad, have developed into a type of love that we have for one another which we didn’t know existed. We’ve spent countless nights camping under the stars, taking long road trips, going to concerts, living, crying, loving and growing together. It’s time that we share some of that love and adventure with the people we care about most and we tie the knot. We hope it’ll be a weekend that you won’t forget!

The Proposal
We have become known for being spontaneous and a little crazy at times. One of those nights happened on a date in San Francisco, early in our relationship. We had decided to take a last second trip to the city and didn’t plan for it very well. We put off finding a place to stay and thought we would figure something out after we got there. After hanging out for the day we started searching for hotels and Airbnb’s and nothing was available except for things way out of our price range or way out of town. After pitching an idea which Brian figured had no chance of flying, he was surprised and delighted that Nicole was up for sleeping in the back of his truck at an overlook of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a truly beautiful night which lead to an amazing morning view of the bridge. The whole experience was one that bonded us even tighter and made us realize that we could make the best of anything together. Fast forward 5 years, and the moment seemed to present itself perfectly. Nicole’s parents were coming in to Reno and wanted to take a trip to San Francisco. Brian had already gotten Richard's blessing and had a plan. The trick was to find a reason to travel to the other side of the bay, where we had spent that night in the back of the truck. Almost like it was meant to be, when we talked about taking pictures, Nicole suggested the exact spot that Brian was trying to get to. When the moment presented itself, Brian and Nicole set up to pose for a picture and after some struggles fiddling with his coat pocket, Brian got down on one knee and asked for Nicole’s hand in marriage. Brian even made the ring box out of wood from where his mother’s ashes were spread so she could be there with us. She would have been going crazy! Luckily, a small crowd of tourists were there who started to cheer in her place! The whole experience couldn’t have gone any better. The city we’ve shared so many experiences in together, now has a permanent place in our love story.
